Hi' i'm new here, and this question has seriously been on my mind since i saw the a/w shows!!!!
CAN SHORT PEOPLE PULL OFF THIGH HIGH BOOTS?
flats in particular, i'm not very confident in heels, and zara are doing a gorgeous pair of flat thigh high boots, but i'm only 5"2, maybe pushing 5"3 now, but i really wouldn't want to invest and regret it!

Over-the-knee boots are without doubt one of this winter’s trickiest trends – even in the most expert fashion hands our advice is to tread with caution.

It’s less about your height, however, and much more about the length of your legs (although being 5ft 2 could mean finding the boot to fit you may be require an extensive shopping search and more than an hour or two of trying on). Regardless of height if you have short legs (compared with the length of your body), over-the-knee boots will likely be an unflattering choice this season. Better to stick to chunky, lace-up ankle boots or flat biker boots with plenty of studs and buckles. If you’re lucky enough to have long legs – and they don’t have to be super skinny either – then over-the-knee boots are for you. Just choose carefully as heeled styles are much less wearable and as this is one trend that can easily teeter towards tarty – we recommend flats as the chic and edgy option. Wear with opaque tights and mini dresses, or skinny black jeans and blazers. Alternatively, mix it up with a ripped love-worn denim skirt or pair of shorts and a parka, like ELLE’s Executive Fashion Editor Stacey Duguid wears hers.

Sure, it's necessary for somebody to be short & small-boned to be Petite' then you can wear thigh-high boots, which includes good body proportions, especially a nice derriere, nice legs, thighs, you'll look fabulous

this is a topic close to my heart, i am also short - 164 cm to be exact - and have a pair of amazing biba style thigh boots from the 1960s i picked up in the assembly rooms in lancaster for £10 *with a little haggling*. they have a very short heel (fashionable in biba heyday), and that gives just the right amount of height. plus wear a short a skirt as you can get away with or a mini dress!!
