Autumn 09’s biggest nail news is the matte top coat. Add this to any colour already in your arsenal and you’ll be right on trend all season. The latest colours are forest green and midnight blue, but in a break from winter tradition, neon shades look set to stay through Christmas and beyond. The choice then has never been broader, (remember when there was only Chanel’s cult Rouge Noir?) so whichever look you’re going for you can find the perfect nail shade to wear with it. Feeling a little glam-grunge? Then choose navy or forest green to wear with OTK boots and laddered tights. If you’re more Olivia Palermo than Alice Dellal, then give mink and grown-up grey a go.
