Between her breathtaking performance and epic dress-jumpsuit, there was plenty of reason to pay attention to Lady Gaga at the 2018 Grammys. What really blew me away, however, was her beauty look. From her Daenerys Targaryen-worthy long 'corset' braids to her dazzling glitter smoky eye, she hit all the right marks.

Let's start with the sparkly eyes. I MEAN:

Because of all that glitter, I guessed the eye look must've taken, oh, an hour or so of meticulous application. When I asked her make-up artist Sarah Nicole Tanno for details, however, she revealed it took a mere 20 minutes.

Inspired by 'a dark starry night' and her Armani Privé gown, Tanno created Gaga's intense smoky look by heavily lining her eyes into a sharp wing with Marc Jacobs Beauty Magic Marc'er Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner in Blacquer 42. She blended that all over the lid and intensified using the Marc Jacobs Beauty Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette in Edgitorial.

The loose silver glitter Tanno used came from Lit Cosmetics — the kits come with their own mixing medium to help the flecks stick. 'I used a fluffy blending brush to dab the glitter in random areas,' she said, then offered a tip, 'Use scotch tape to pick up any loose glitter that doesn't belong.'

Now, for the head-turning braids. Her hair stylist Frederic Aspiras tells ELLE.com it took one hour to do Gaga's hair. However, he spent two days prior drawing multiple sketches of the look and doing trials of different braids to present to the Haus of Gaga team for approval. It was clearly worth all the prep — Gaga's hair was by far the most memorable of the night.

Even better? He only used drugstore products to achieve the look. John Frieda Frizz Ease Clearly Defined Gel was key for smoothing down the two side braids.

Never was there a better time to say this:
