When looking back at 2017's addiction to, arguably, the most bonkers beauty trends ever, the need to see something new (and just a little more wearable) is strong.

Thankfully our go-to moodboard makers and trend predicting extraordinaires, Pinterest, have done just that. Pulling data from no less than 48 million devoted beauty Pinners, Pinterest are looking forward to the ten beauty trends that are going to be all over your Insta (and your make-up bag) come 2018.

Yup, leave the OTT highlighter, matte liquid lipsticks and embellished brows firmly in 2017, these are the beauty trends you're going to be all about next year.

Facial Rollers

The Trend: We're always on the look out for a skincare trend that's dermatologist-approved and more than a little Insta-worthy. Which is where derma face rollers come in. Get your hands on a pretty jade roller, whack it in the fridge (the cooling effect means puffy eyes are a thing of the past) and move it across clean skin to increase blood circulation and get that glow.

Cleansing Oils

The Trend: The essential step in any two-part double cleanse routine (which we assume you're all doing everyday, right?), cleansing oils are big news in the skincare biz. The easiest way to remove make-up without irritating your skin and whilst giving it a welcome hit of hydration at the same time, cleansing oils are a must, whatever your skin type. Yup, oily skin sufferers, they're good for you too.

The Trend: The Glossier effect continues with our increased obsession with all things pink and balmy. Less polished and serious than a heavy matte, lip tints give a hit of colour to wake your face up without looking too done.

The Trend: Hitting the SS18 runways at Prabal Gurung and Jason Wu, and working it's way onto the red carpet courtesy of Margot Robbie, Emma Roberts and J-Law, slicked back wet look hair is officially here to stay for 2018. Keep things feeling fresh by working in loose waves and messy textures.

Inclusive Foundation Shades

The Trend: We know it shouldn't be a trend to simply provide foundation shades for every woman's skin tone, but then again taxing tampons, the gender pay gap and Solange having her hair photoshopped off, shouldn't be either. Alas, it's the current world we live in. Thankfully, beauty brands like Rihanna's game-changing Fenty Beauty are finally meeting women's needs with more foundation shades than ever. About time too.

The Trend: Between sweater nails, geode tips and finger hair extensions, last year's nail trends got a little too weird for our liking. Look to 2018 for a more pared back approach to nail art and the return of more minimal geometric shapes.
