Try to avoid anything too illuminating (or too heavy) around the eye area – YSL Touche Eclat is the limit on highlight. I like Touche Eclat but it doesn’t grab me like it does the rest of the population. To conceal my dark circles I use a combination of Chantecaille’s New Stick, £35, which is a foundation and concealer in one; using my ring finger I dab it under my eyes and at the inner corners then gently blend. To brighten, I layer with Smashbox’s Eye Beam Brightener, £22, (exclusive to Debenhams). I also recommend Benefit’s Erase Paste, £18.50 - it’s anti-fatigue which just means you’ll look like you’ve had 8 hours sleep even if you haven’t and it does the job brilliantly. While Bobbi Brown’s Eye Brightener, £22, is lightweight yet gives good coverage and it’s brightening to boot - a winner in the ELLE office.
