When it comes to pale, I’m definitely the right person to ask! I love fake tan, but day-to-day I definitely tend to go au naturel. I’m not particularly loyal to a foundation or blusher, but I can definitely recommend the ones I’ve tried and loved. I like a liquid foundation and creamy blush, with a light dusting of translucent powder over the t-zone to keep everything in place.
Foundation
At the moment I’m using Chantecaille Future Skin Foundation, £55. It’s is made up of 60% charged water that attracts moisture from the environment like a magnet keeping your skin hydrated all day, clever!
A cheaper alternative is Max Factor; I love the brand’s foundations. Xperience, £9.99, is super lightweight (but covers well), while Miracle Touch, £12.99 has a great coverage and is your foundation, concealer and powder in one (be warned the pot won’t last long if you wear foundation every day).
Another favourite is My Face My Mix Foundation, £12.99, which I’ve raved about so many times on here. It leaves skin looking clear and super dewy – so much so when I wear it people often asked if I’ve had a facial!
Concealer
If your skintone is uneven like mine, try Rimmel’s Match Perfection Illuminating Concealer, £5.99. I normally don’t rate liquid concealers as they often don’t cover as well, but this does the job brilliantly.
Bronzer
Before I apply blusher I dust a little bronzer over my forehead, cheekbones, nose, chin and décolleté. Something light and shimmer-free is ideal. I love Shiseido Bronzer in Light, £32 and Sue Devitt Gel Bronzer, £31 (a creamy bronzer that I apply with a brush), if I want to keep things dewy.
Blusher
Next, I add a pop of blush onto the apples of my cheeks and blend up and out to my cheekbones. Max Factor’s Miracle Touch Creamy Blusher in Soft Pink, £6.99 looks really pretty over a lingering summer tan.
Maybelline Dream Touch Blush in Plum or Berry, £6.49, is another easy one to blend and is a pink but not such a pretty, girly hue it has a bit more depth – great for autumn.
Benefit’s new Cha Cha Tint, £24.50 is a fruity coral that will brighten up a dull complexion.
I also love Stila’s Convertible Color, £16. It comes in six shades and doubles as lip colour too.
