I read somewhere once that Olivia Palermo has perfected three hairstyles - hair down, ponytail and bun - that she can style in 10-minutes. I think this is a great idea; try and pick three or four hairstyles you love and practice them until you can do them in 10 minutes (no one wants to spend ages on their hair early in the morning).
Hairstyles you could try include:
A simple plait (to the back or sitting at the side), you could secure with a plain hair elastic or try accessorising with ribbon. You could even weave a piece of ribbon through the braid, if you're feeling experimental.
Alternatively a dolly bun looks effortlessly cool, while a bun using a donut is a little more ladylike. To use a donut simply pop your hair in a pony on top of your head, pull the pony through the doughnut tucking the hair over and under the doughnut to conceal it, finish by pinning the hair in place. You could also accessorise your doughnnut - see here for inspiration.
Try experimenting with hair accessories - hair bands are in right now see which stars are wearing them here, or try making your own hair accessories (click here for tips).
You could try a forties roll (click here for a step-by-step guide) which is really pretty; for this look you need a couple of hair combs which you can also use to secure your hair into a quick chignon.
Or simply get yourself some tongs and get a wave into your hair for a great spring look, seen at Cacharel, Sonia Rykiel and Anna Sui.
Just remember the key with hair is not to worry if bits fall out or it's a bit dishevelled, just have fun!
