While I was over in America I popped into Walgreen's and came across skincare range Borba. What caught my eye - and sets the brand apart - wasn't the bottles and jars of lotions and potions but the Slimming Chocolate Chews, $19.99, and Skin Balance Gummi Bears, $14.99.

Obviously we should be getting our vitamins from food, but these sweet shaped supplements are far more palatable than oversize tablets. So what's Borba all about?

It turns out founder Scott-Vincent Borba is a big hit with the A-list counting Mila Kunis and Breaking Dawn star Ashley Greene among fans of his range. Scott-Vincent became a licensed Esthetician (skincare therapist) before working in product development for brands like Neutrogena, Shiseido and Murad. He suffered from sensitive, blemish prone skin and couldn't find a skincare regime to suit his complexion so decided to market his own. He realised that good skin should be treated inside and out (something ELLEuk.com has championed for years), so as well as having a huge skincare range that includes cleansers, serums and peels, there are supplements and soft drinks packed with skin-loving nutrients too.

Annoyingly I don't know of any UK stockists of Borba, but Scott-Vincent's book Skintervention: The Personalized Solution for Healthier, Younger, and Flawless-looking Skin from the Inside Out, £12.99, is available at Amazon. It's packed with loads of useful tips, as well as skin-friendly meal ideas. Check it out.
