My skin has been so dehydrated this week and I think it’s down to the glorious sunshine we’ve been having - it’s forcing me to shed my winter skin. Yesterday I was desperately applying Caudalie serum over my foundation at regular intervals in the hope my skin would be quenched. It went some way to hydrate but last night I attacked the problem head on.

First, I cleansed. (I love Radical Hydrating Cleanser, £30)

Next, because my skin was feeling a bit scaly (literally I was as dry as a lizard!) I sloughed at my skin with Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant, £30.40. The exfoliating paved the way for me to use a mask.

I applied a thick layer of Nuxe’s creamy Masque Frais Hydratant Moisture Mask, £18.50 and left it to work for about 5 minutes; then spent a good 5 minutes massaging it in. Where my old skin had loosened up from the cleanser, scrub and now the mask bits of dead skin actually started rolling off my skin as I pawed at it, gross but oh-so satisfying.
I finished with my usual moisturising regime (StriVectin Get Even Brightening Serum, £79 for my hyperpigmentation and a layer of Radical Anti-Ageing Restorative Moisturiser, £100) but you should use whichever serum/moisturiser you already have. It’s the exfoliator and the mask that make the real difference here, use them once a week and your skin will feel more hydrated and well, normal.
