When it came to definitive trends, it looked like lips were pulling ahead earlier this week in Paris. Yet today it was the eyes that had it.

After we’d gone green at Stella McCartney, graphic black at Leonard and glossy at Valli earlier in the day, Diane Kendal opted for some heavy metal with a shimmering lid in rusty copper.

As if taking her cue from the new shape seen at Leonard, Kendal rejected classic cat’s eyes and instead made “oblong” the word du jour. Keeping the face clean with a smidgen of concealer just where needed, she squared off eyelids with a swipe of MAC Greasepaint in Smoked Paprika before patting the PRO Pigment in Copper over the top.

Suffering from a severe case of snivels, shakes and ‘must fight it fatigue’, (what we doctors call fashion flu) Guido struggled on, making a nod to the collection’s sixties reference when creating a deep side parting that was “a bit Twiggy, a bit boyish”.

Adding Redken Powder Refresh 01 to freshly blow-dried hair, he used his fingers to pull it back into a half up, half down ‘do that “was n either a knot nor a pony but a loop” caught up in a black elastic.

The ever-gorgeous Chloe girl in a nutshell? Rusty rectangles, loop-di-loops and thanks to MAC Sheer Confectionary, the only nail shade that matters this season. All together now: Nude.
