There was a bit of a party atmosphere backstage at Ashish. That end of term feeling when the hard work’s done and the long summer holidays stretch out before you. And as LFW neared the end, a teenage risk taker encapsulated the vibe.
With a sequined scrunchie bobbing around on a jaunty top knot, this was a young, urban girl who set her own style rules – and totally rocked them. The pre-make up prep was closely focused on moisture with Georgina Graham massaging MAC’s Care Blend Essential Oil into skin, dotting on eye cream and balming lips to provide a dewy, blank canvas.
But it was lips and lashes that stole the show. Adding a “mega curl” to the lashes, Graham combined the MAC PRO Mixing Medium with the Marine Ultra Pigment before stroking the electric blue elixir from root to tip. Saint German Lipstick was topped with the Cheers My Dear frosted pigment from a forthcoming collaboration with American’s cult Archie Comics to create a lip shade that came straight out of a bottle of Pepto-Bismol.
Which only left Marian Newman – the woman who makes nails look good naked – add her stamp to our teenage rebels. As one of the leaders of this season’s nude nail avalanche, Newman shook things up with a stripe of gold or silver foil down one side of each talon.
Watching this girl strut out onto the catwalk, we couldn’t help but think that we wanna be in her gang.
