If you're feeling demotivated, why not try working out with a friend like Nicole Richie and Ashley Greene or Gwyneth and Madonna (pictured) do. The lovely team at Shock Absorber invited me to try their new Mateivator Workout a regime to be done at home with a friend - easy! Or so I thought. Kitted out in a new Shock Absorber sports bra (it's the only brand I wear) I met with fitness trainer Elise Lindsay (who masterminded the workout) and the other willing participants. Once paired up, we started with a warm-up then moved onto various exercises from boxing (with gloves and pads) and squats incorporating a rather heavy medicine ball, to sit-ups (still with the pesky ball) and bicep/tricep exercises using weights. By the time we came to the cool-down I was worn out and aching - I don't normally ache until the day after a workout! It's a great idea to workout with a friend especially if you are both motivated to get fit.

Here are Elise's top tips to get you motivated and help you stay on track:

Invest in a journal to track your progress. Also, prioritise and plan your exercise schedule in advance.

Get the right kit – good fitting sports bra and trainers are key.

Make a pact with a friend to get fit together and keep each other on track.

Set achievable targets, enter a race together or get involved in a Women's only Triathlon (Shock Absorber sponsor it), it's for all abilities and not until July - so plenty of time to train.

Reward yourself when you meet your targets.

Bring an exercise focus into all aspects of your life. At work be posture perfect and why not try bicep curls with your shopping bags.
