Finding the perfect scent for your wedding day is a tricky affair, do you wear an old favourite that you know your fiancé loves? Or do you select a new perfume that will forever remind you of your big day? Kate Middleton went for the latter and wore White Gardenia Petals, £70, by Illuminum. The fresh floral fragrance is a blend of lily, gardenia, ylang ylang, lily of the valley, and jasmine.
I like to think maybe Kate read our Wedding Beauty Feature for which perfumer Roja Dove gave us this tip, ‘Give a list of the ingredients in your chosen perfume to your florist, so they can create a bouquet which will enhance your scent rather than clash with it’. As lily of the valley made an appearance in both Kate's fragrance and bouquet.
Founded by British perfumer Michael Boadi, we exclusively told you about House of Illuminum before it launched back in September, when Jeanette scented the catwalk with Illuminum’s Scarlet Oud at the spring summer 11 Richard Nicoll show. The collection of fifteen scents, each containing just 8 ingredients, fits Kate's style of chic simplicity perfectly.
We predict a sell-out for White Gardenia Petals.
