Nail art is still going strong and Team ELLE is constantly scouring the internet looking for new ideas and inspiration. Case in point: this picture that Kelly Osbourne (@MissKellyO) tweeted yesterday. The star called on Barbara Warner Beauty in LA to create this one shade (black), dual texture (matte and shine) manicure; it's a new take on the classic French manicure.

Get the look by painting your nails with Nails Inc nail polish in Black Taxi, £11 (nailsinc.com). Follow this with a layer of Rimmel Pro Matte Top Coat, £4.59 (boots.com). Next, use a high shine top coat like one of my favourites Revlon's Top Coat, £6.49 (superdrug.com) on the tips; the good thing about using a clear polish to do the tips is that you don’t have to be as precise (white tips on a classic French manicure are so tricky to get neat).
Nails Inc does have a matte black polish called Oxford Street, £5 (nailsinc.com), but I would advise buying separate clear matte and high shine top coats, that way you can try this look with a multitude of different shades; I’m going to try coral for spring.
If you give this manicure a try, tweet us your pictures @elleuk
