I learnt something new today. When in Cannes Kirsten Dunst just loves a dishevelled up-do adorned with a glitzy hairband.
Why do I say this? Well, cast your eyes over Exhibit A - Kirsten in Cannes at the AMfar Cinema Against AIDS Gala – year 2011. Note the plaited up-do decorated with a subtle beaded hairband. It was one of our favourite hairstyles of Cannes last year...
Fast forward a year and who do we spy with practically the same ‘do? None other than Dunst. See Exhibit B below.
The actress has been in the French resort today publicising her upcoming film On the Road. She's updated her fave Cannes hairstyle with looped, twisted details, rather than braids; in place of the slim hairband is a bolder gold and pastel, floral version by Dolce & Gabbana.
It’s no crime to love a hairstyle and wear it over again, especially if you make clever updates and tweaks to the look for different occasions. In fact it makes total sense before a big event - the last thing you want is to be stressing over a new look.
Now, I love the braided 2011 up-do but I'm drawn to the unusual looped finish and bolder choice in accessory of her 2012 look. If I was Harry Hill I'd ask the hairstyles to FIGHT, but I'm not - so which do you find most covetable?
