Here at Beauty Notes Daily we don't make a habit of telling you about launches too far in advance because it's just not that useful. But, rules are there to be broken and the launch of Liz Earle Colour is worth it.

The new line launches in May and includes everything from concealer, highlighter and powder to blushers, lipsticks and eyeshadows and is set to be a welcome addition to any make-up bag. Last week I met Liz and she revealed that the process had been long, four years to be precise. Why? Well, she wanted to cut out any of the controversial ingredients such as Carmine (which is taken from insects), but didn't want to forgo the quality of the colours and textures; the result is a well thought out, versatile and premium line of cosmetics.

I've been using the products for a week now and these are the ones that are firmly housed in my make-up bag: Natural Glow Bronzer, £19.50, which comes pressed in a mirrored compact; the Eye Pencil in Dark Brown, £11, which gives eyes a great smoulder, and Healthy Glow Cream Blush, £16.50, which blends and wears like a dream on cheeks and lips.

Mark May in your diaries, ladies.

Liz Earle Cosmetics will be available from lizearle.com; Liz Earle stores; QVC and John Lewis.
