As a self-confessed nudist (only with lips), I have been plagued by the bug of familiarity – if it works why change it? When staring in the EBT Beauty Cupboard at all the season’s must have lip shades I came up with a plan. Time to ditch the pales for a week and see if it really does change the way I feel about lip colour.

Day One- Giorgio Armani Rouge D’Armani Sheers in pink 500

I decided to start my week off lightly, or so I thought. The team suggested easing me in with a sheer. Whilst glossy and hydrating the colour is not matte and therefore a subtler bright. In my morning haze I tried to apply the lipstick as carefully as possible and like a child with a colouring book, expecting to stray from the lines until I painted the perfect lip. The consistency of the sheer meant this was easier than I expected even though the colour was vivid.

Throughout the day I found myself layering up the lipstick, you can choose to be daring or play it fairly safe with this colour and both work brilliantly. The intense pink shade seemed to brighten my face and was an eye catching colour to complement my printed dress.

Day one complete I was pleasantly surprised at how wearable this bright was. As the week goes on I aim to be braver and try out the darker side of this season’s top lip shades.

See which lipstick shade I tried on day two...
