Neil Moodie: French Pleat with 50's Quiff

By Suzanne Scott

We attended Neil Moodie's Bumble and bumble Up, Up and Away master class this morning at Cornwall's Port Eliot Festival.

Moodie showed us how to achieve a classic French Pleat with a twist.

Begin by brushing your hair up above your head. Smooth as you go with a soft bristle brush.

Use your finger to divide you hair into two sections using your finger. Moodie prefers using fingers to divide hair over a comb because combs create harsh lines.

Pin the top section out of the way.

Use the back section to twist back on its self towards the centre of your head to form a pleat. Pin in place.

Split the top section in half with your fingers.

Roll both sides in towards the centre of your head to meet the top of your pleat. Pin in place and make sure that some of your pins go through both rolls to hold them together.

Use your finger-tips to soften the hair around your hair line.

Set the entire thing with Bumble and bumble Spray de Mode to keep it in place all day.
