From Bond Girl to Tom Cruise's right hand woman in Oblivion, Olga Kurylenko broke the mould for her recent premiere appearance with a hair style and makeup look worth talking about. We loved the twisted pony and smoky eye/baby lip combo so much we tracked down her hair and makeup team for an exclusive explanation of exactly how they did it. The result being we can all look as good as a Bond Girl. Almost.

Makeup Artist Alex Babsky:

'I evened out Olga's complexion with Lancome Teint Idole, £27.50 - I like this foundation for the red carpet because it's slightly mattifying and once I've sent someone onto the red carpet, there isn't really a chance to touch up any areas that become shiny.

On her eyes I used brand new Lancome Hypnose palette ST4, £37 - I washed the taupe colour on the left of the palette over her entire eye area, top and bottom, and then pushed the palette's pewter colour onto her mobile eyelid, fading one colour into the other and blending outwards slightly towards the temples too.

I lengthened Olga's eyes a little further by adding black pencil along her upper lashes and winging the line outwards. I pressed the black powder from the palette into the line to set it and to make sure it stayed put. To emphasise the liner, I added mascara to the top lashes only. I brushed a little Lancome Blush Subtil in Rose Sable, £27, high up over Olga's cheekbones and kept the lips soft to balance the heavier eye; I defined and filled them in with Lancome Lip Liner in Beige Rosé, £18 - which is a pretty close match to Olga's natural lip colour, and then added a light coat of Lancome L'Absolu Rouge Lipsick in 250 Beige Mirage, £22'.

Hairstylist Peter Lux:

'Start by taking a clean side parting and then run straighteners through your hair to tame any frizz. Spray some hairspray in the hair before you start twist. It will make it easier as it will give the hair some grip.

Take a parting with a tail comb from behind your ear towards the crown. You should have all the hair from the side of your head in one large section. Brush the entire section upwards ad spritz with some hairspray to keep it smooth. Now twist the hair backwards until the twist section sits flat close to your head. Push a hair grip into the back if the twist to hold it in place. Now using a few small hair pins tighten the twist by closing the fold bit by bit with each pin.

Now repeat the same on the other side so you will be left with a twisted section on either side.

Gather the rest of the hair and the ends of the twisted sections in a high ponytail and hold in place with a hair elastic.

Wrap a thin section if hair from underneath the ponytail over the elastic to hide it ad secure with hairpin underneath the ponytail.

Finish with a spritz of hairspray'.
