Another season is upon us and as I gear up mentally for the month-long chaos of backstage, I’m also packing for my first trip to New York Fashion Week.

First hurdle – having just checked the weather forecast I’m very unprepared on the thermals front for the onslaught of -11C temperatures. But where my undergarments are lacking I more than make up for in the beauty department, as I’ve packed enough products to set up shop in the big apple. I need to #TrialATrend my way through the week after all.

Here’s how I prepped, my in-flight essentials and the products that will (hopefully) get me through the week unscathed by the arctic chill.

1. Colour Refresh at Four London

My roots were looking as neglected as my New Year’s resolutions so I booked myself into my favourite colourists at Four London. In two hours my hair had its mojo back.

2. This Works In Transit Muscle Therapy, £18

Good job I had this little rollerball to hand on my long-haul flight; after lugging my two cases and, ahem, three shopping bags through the airport my shoulders were painfully tense. This eased them up no problem.

3. Carita Ideal Hydration Lagoon Serum, £57

Packed with a cocktail of moisture-boosting ingredients, my thirsty skin slurps up this hydrating serum. My SOS treatment against the chill.

4. Sisley Nutritive Lip balm, £42.50

How exciting can a lip balm be? In this case, very. I use it before my make-up to prep my lips before applying lipstick. Chapped lips in New York, a no no.

5. Nars Multiple in Orgasm, £30

A cult classic for a reason, this cheekily named blusher stick is the perfect on-the-go pick-me-up. I use it on my cheekbones, lips and even the sides of my nose as a highlighter – just remember to blend well.

6. Hydraluron Moisture Boosting Masks, £19.99

Literally dripping in hyaluronic acid, this full-face mask might look funny on but it means business. Softer skin in 15 minutes guaranteed.

7. SHOW Beauty Dry Shampoo, £30 (travel size pictured)

You never know what’s just around the corner in NYC; I’ll be keeping this luxe bottle close at hand so I don’t get caught off-guard with greasy roots.

8. Rodial Super Fit Turbo Shots, £48

My daily dose of vitamin C plus a host of other energy-boosters; hoping this will cure my jetlag.

9. Origins Dr Weil Mega Bright Dark Circle Minimiser, £32

Under eye bags don’t stand a chance against this brightening cream. I don’t go anywhere without it.

10.Tom Ford Lipstick in Dibliquo, £36

My ultimate red – creamy, long-lasting, punchy and, well, perfect.
