Everyone’s favourite salon for Crayola-colour hair, Bleach London, has a range of DIY products launching this month at Boots which means you can get the Bleach look even if you don’t live in the city.

There is a choice of 12 “Super Cool Colour” shades, £5 each (crazy affordable, right?) to choose from with cute names like Awkward Peach and Sea Punk that range from washed-out pastels to vivid brights.

While Beauty Director Sophie was writing about the launch for the November issue (out tomorrow) she challenged me to try all the colours. Well, I’m not one to turn down a dare, let alone a hair-related one.

Sadly, a wedding (okay, not sadly that was a fun day!), multiple fashion weeks and a little fear (the bright shades look really bright) meant I only tested out four of the 12 shades. Here are the results…

Washed Out Orange:

Rosé:

Blullini:

Awkward Peach:

The colour was mega easy to use; you simply shampoo your hair then massage the colour in where you want it. I applied most shades to the mid-lengths and ends. The Rosé shade I used all over went a little patchy since I’m not a platinum blonde, but it was so subtle it kind of didn’t matter. Most colours disappeared after 3 washes meaning it’s low-commitment way to reinvent your look – perfect for weekends. I’m hooked.

As well as the colours there is a DIY Dip Dye Kit, Total Bleach and a White Toner to remove brassy tones from blonde, all £7 each. Haircare includes a Silver Shampoo and conditioner, £5 each, Everyday Dry Shampoo, £6, and a Washing Out Liquid, £5, to remove any, erm, mistakes.
