The celebrity facial

You’d expect a woman with a name like Cherry Woods to attract fame. In this case, what she attracts is famous faces – namely a raft of television presenters who go to her religiously for facials that keep their skin close-up ready.

Based in Richmond, Cherry combines high-tech treatments with holistic, relaxing massage. I went to see her for a two-hour pre-wedding bespoke facial to minimise my fine lines and revive my stressed-out winter skin before the big day.

First off, having steamed and prepped my skin with exotic smelling products, Cherry gave me a dose of Omnilux Revive Photo Rejuvenation – a skin boosting light therapy which stimulates collagen production in the skin and counteracts sun damage. Next came a mini-peel using a 10 per cent lactic acid solution from skincare range Environ, known for its vitamin A-rich formulas. That left my skin ready for CACI (pronounced Casey), a non-surgical facelift machine. Using micro currents delivered via slim metal probes, it zaps facial muscles into action, giving them a workout and tightening the skin.

Before it was time to go, I was treated to a blissful neck and shoulder massage and a touch of reflexology, so while my face felt plump, firm and fully re-hydrated, my body felt pampered: a winning combination, don’t you think?
