This is natural make-up but not as you know it. Tom Pecheux for Mac took inspiration from Madame Tussaud’s waxwork models; he wanted the skin to look ‘flawlessly creamy yet a little twisted’.

This is where mauve and shades with grey undertones came in. Tom mixed two Mac Lipsticks in Siss and Myself to contour under the cheekbones and on the temples, he then added Cream Blush in Breaking Ground on the eyes and right up into the brow to give a wax-like effect.
What is it about these ‘off’ and ‘dirtier’ shades that make them really relevant for now? Tom explains, ‘It’s exactly what I love about fashion and beauty at the moment, it’s full of contradictions; expensive, to die for clothes and materials against this striking, slightly off and grungy beauty look’.
Hair took the same inspiration, contrasting a wet-look helmet style on top with loose wispy hair down the back.
