Packed into a pop-up backstage space in the Brooklyn Navy Yard Guido for Redken talked us through next season's Alexander Wang girl; 'I chose this 60's swept over, androgynous hair to mirror the utilitarian, masculine cut of the collection'. Moving away from Spring/Summer 14's 'easy chic', the futuristic Wang soldiers were a niche of their own.

Guido used Redken Control Addict Hairspray to slick the models' hair down into a steep side part. To give the illusion of a black helmet 12 of the models - including Jourdan Dunn, Candice Swanepoel, Joan Smalls and Karlie Kloss - had their partings painted black, giving the look a futuristic feel.

Over on make-up Diane Kendal for Nars bleached the models brows and used minimal make-up to create a monotone canvas. An added touch of Nars' cult classic (and ELLE beauty desk favourite) Copacabana Highlighter on the eyes and cheeks left the models skin glowing.

Granted it's not a pop to the shops look, but we adored the mix of theatrical futurism and urban cool. This is Wang's world and we want in.

Post-show we headed to the after party at Gilded Lily in the Meatpacking District for more, ahem, investigatory journalism and sipped vodka and ginger beer cocktails whilst an all-female dance crew and rapper entertained the crowds.
