Why we love at-home hair colour conditioners

By Amy Lawrenson

If you have ever coloured your hair at home you'll know that the sachet of conditioner that comes with any hair colour (regardless of the brand) is generally the best you will ever use. Your hair, post-home colour, may not be the shade you thought it would be but it's always super shiny and silky.

Now I'm sure that is in part, down to the colour itself (that box-fresh glossy shine is hard to beat), but in my experience no other conditioners come close to the ones nestled in those boxes of colour. Imagine how overjoyed I was then, to hear that the team at John Frieda have launched the conditioner found in their Precision Foam Colour boxes, as a stand-alone product. It's called Intense After-Colour Conditioner, £4.99 (exclusive to Boots) and I put it to the test this weekend when my hair was feeling particularly lacklustre. Needless to say my hair drank it up, leaving the lengths smooth and shiny and the ends totally tangle-free.

Used once or twice a week your hair will thank you for it.

Frances Saunders (Tue, 01 May 2012 12:24:26 +0100): I love John Frieda hair stuff anyway, but I wish it wasn't so expensive. I have to watch ouy for offers before I can buy any products. The hair colourants are gorgeous.
