Winter-proof beauty

The woolly hats and thick coats are out in force, so it’s time to get your beauty regime ready to face winter, too.

Face facts

To combat chapped lips, treat lips to a moisture hit with Sugar Rosé Tinted Lip Treatment, £14, by Fresh. It provides a protective barrier and a pretty pink tint.

An intensive face mask is a great winter rescue – try Origin’s new Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask, £20, which quenches parched skin and helps to restore some much-needed balance.

Body talk

A good hand cream will help you avoid dry hands and splitting nails. Clinique’s new (and wonderfully nourishing) Deep Comfort Hand and Cuticle Cream, £14, is already an ELLE favourite.

Body oils are great during winter months – used sparingly they will deliver intense hydration, but won’t leave your skin greasy. ELLE loves Thai Royale Beauty Oil, £7, by Champneys. Rich in anti-oxidants, it provides a soothing skin treat.

Hair today

We’re sure you’re no stranger to ‘rain’ hair, so pop on an invisible shower cap with Lee Stafford’s amazing Climate Control Protection Spray, £5.49 – it helps to hold hair in place and avoids the frizz.

A hydrating SOS mask is an absolute will repair winter-damaged hair. We’ve been using Force Vector Masque, £12.95, by L’Oreal Professional, a two-minute treatment that seals moisture into brittle hair.
