Those who know me will know my stance on home fragrance: scented candles? Yes, please. Room sprays? Hmm, at a push. Incense? Never. Until now. Yesterday I was introduced to master perfumer Francis Kurkdjian’s own range of personal and home fragrances (he of Narciso Rodriguez and Jean Paul Gaultier fragrance fame). I have to say that while the perfumes were as gorgeous and interesting as I had anticipated, it was his take on incense that really got me.

Housed in a delicate little box there’s not a joss stick in sight, rather a pack of thin fragranced paper strips and a cluster of tiny matches with which to light them. With three different scents to choose from the papers burn for 45 seconds then leave a delicious veil that scents the room for hours after. I think I’m converted.
