Does anyone really like having their picture taken? I've never been the kind of person who knows their good side and has a works-every-time posing face for achieving the perfect photograph. So the prospect of an ELLE Beauty team 'photoshoot' (new blog mug shots coming soon) had me running in heels to the Shu Uemura counter in Selfridges ('when in doubt, get false lashes' is my motto).
This really is as good as it gets when it comes to strip lashes. There's a huge choice, from the fawn-like to Priscilla-queen-of-the-desert, and the team there are the best. Manager Anton does a great impression of a drill sergeant as he instructs on the intricacies of skincare, while make-up artist Jacki (pictured above working his magic) is a whizz with the eyelash glue. The best bit? The false lashes can be reused up to 20 times. Just pop them back in the box and head to the counter for a free re-application before a big night out. I'm ready for my close up.
