Heading out to a Halloween party tomorrow night? Need some inspiration? You’ll find it right here…

First, you need some outlandish lashes. These from Shu Uemura, £55, are the Rolls Royce of falsies. They apply them for you in their stand alone stores and also their counters in Selfridges and House of Fraser – less time fiddling helplessly with glue and lashes = more time to party.

Second, you need to channel your inner goth! Dark nails, eyes and lips are a must. Add a twist to your look with Miss Sporty’s black lip gloss, £2.99, applied to eyelids rather than lips, for a modern take on the smoky look. Sounds weird, we know, but it works. See Lily Allen sporting the look on ELLE’s October cover here.

Finally, get arty with Urban Decay’s mini eyeliners, £18 for nine. You can go to town drawing on spiders, cobwebs, and more – the s/s 10 catwalks were awash with body art, so this will be good steady-hand practice.

See? Frighteningly easy, isn’t it?
