Regular readers of this blog (if not, why not?) might recall intermittent postings on one of my favourite subject: nails. It’s safe to say that I’m pretty obsessed with anything nail related and have such a huge arsenal of polishes in my kit that I have lost count. So as the beauty team’s resident fanatic I’ve decided to keep you all better acquainted with my nails in regular updates, starting now…

This week has been quite a week for nails. There’s been so much decorating and adorning going on I’ve hardly been able to type (quite literally – too much tap tap tapping might ruin my latest style). On Tuesday night it was the turn of my toes to get a look-in as I sauntered off to get them Minxed. Not your standard polish, Minx are sheets of patterned or coloured foils applied to your nails. I’ve had this done once before (and loved it) but this time it was in honour of the fact that the service is now available at Nails Inc salons nationwide. I opted for the brightest and shiniest gold foil to make my toes look like mini bars of gold bullion. It costs from £30 for hands and £35 for feet – well worth it in my opinion. Yesterday I paid a visit to the girls from Dalston’s WAH salon (visit them at www.wah-nails.com) who were having a press day in London’s Home House to celebrate the imminent launch of their Selfridges pop-up store. Founder Sharmadean Reid and her team invited me to choose any style, pattern and colour – heaven! After intense deliberation I opted for tri-colour leopard print with gold studs – a natural choice given my love of, well, animal print and studs. The results, as you can see for yourself below, are amazing and have forced me to try and come up with more ways to show off my hands – I may have to start shaking hands with strangers on the street.

Until next time...
