Thumbs up for Anna Wintour

One of the highlights of London Fashion Week for me was witnessing the independent spirit of US Vogue’s Anna Wintour.

At Erdem yesterday, she made her way to the front row alone and happily took her seat, waiting patiently, sunglasses in hand, for the show to begin. About half an hour after the show finished, I spotted her weaving her way through buses and cabs at the top of St James – probably on her way back to the Ritz where I imagine she’s been staying. She looked wonderfully unencumbered without an entourage or even a handbag – just a green carrier from whichever shop she’d popped out to. The day before, she was the first person to show up (on time) at Meadham Kirchhoff, proving that Anna Wintour cares about fashion, not being fashionably late.
