The husband-and-wife run beauty mecca, offering everything from blow-drys to pedicures, now extends over four floors, with the top floor dedicated to beauty treatments. That’s where you’ll find uber-facialist Vanda Serrador, whose bespoke approach to skin has won her many high-profile fans, including make-up artist Jemma Kidd.

With Pimms and pen in hand, I wandered round admiring the new décor (sort of black and white minimalist crossed with down town New York), and lurked behind celebs in the hope of getting a few quotes. Unfortunately, I was a bit late for Yasmin le Bon and daughter Amber, but after spotting ex-All Saints Melanie Blatt complaining about the lack of goody bag and a tall-and-busty Lisa Snowdon chatting to fans, I managed to corner Duncan from Blue and quiz him on the secrets to his excellent (smooth, glowing) skin.

‘I’ve tried everything,’ he told me, ‘but Elemis is the best. I use their Pro Collagen Marine Cream – it really works. If I’ve had a heavy night, I put it on in the morning after cleansing and it makes me brand new again. I also love their Papaya Enzyme Peel

‘I didn’t use anything on my face before I joined the band,’ he said, ‘but once those make-up artists get hold of you and start recommending things, it’s hard to go back.’

And with skin that great, why would you?
