Backstage at New York Fashion Week we’ve spotted a trend emerging for earthy, deep copper and autumnal aubergine tones and plenty of slicked back post-gym hair. The beauty look at ticks all these boxes, making it the perfect show to #TrialATrend in the big apple.

To create the look Diane Kendal for Nars smudged Nars Pencil in Mambo under the eyes and smudged in with a blending brush.

Over the top of the liner Diane layered Nars Eyeshadow Duo in Dolomites (out august) and left the eyes mascara free.

I raided the new Nars boutique in Soho (124 Prince Street) for the eye pencil and a substitute Eyeshadow in Frez and then got to work following Diane’s step-by-step.

Here’s the finished look…I’m sold!

The softness of the line and the copper shade makes it much more wearable. The fact I kept it on all through the day and topped it up for dinner (adding mascara – I couldn’t resist) is testament to my new found love.

Over on hair, I gave the sporty look a whirl using Garnier Disorder 2-in-1 Wax & Hairspray on my roots and hairline and swept it back using the hotel's comb (v.handy amenities).

Elvis springs to mind but whilst a few others at dinner didn’t seem too fond my new ‘do I have to admit I kinda liked it. Not one I’ll be adding into my daily routine but nice to mix it up in NYC.
