There are two make-up looks I love above all others - the first is a bold lip, the second is a strong brow. So you can imagine my giddy delight when I saw both backstage on the same day.

Francel Daily for Nars created brilliantly boxy brows with a finely tapered point using Nars Brow Stylo Pencil to lightly sketch into shape. As far as brows are concerned, the bigger the better in our eyes.

Huddled into a small backstage area in Zac Posen's studio, Kabuki for Mac coined the make-up look 'a deconstructed take on 1940's old Hollywood glamour'. Think Rita Hayworth meets Black Swan ballerinas with a hint of punk thrown in for good measure.

Hair by Odile Gilbert for Moroccanoil, shared the same reference and featured super luxe, 40's style waves toughened up by visible pins.
