Music is often a big inspiration backstage and today at Issey Miyake, Eugene Souleiman on hair and Alex Box stepped things up a notch.

During the show old TV screens were used as instruments; when the DJ touched each screen they made different sounds, like a techo-drum. Cool, right? To link with this 'surprise' element of the show, Eugene wanted to create an 'illusion' with the hair; straight on it looks like a faux Mohican, at the side two french twists and from the back a slicked back textured up 'do.

Over on make-up, Alex Box also used music as her muse but this time it was all in the application, which she compared to 'conducting music'. She used big buffing brushes to apply - sorry, 'conduct' - opalescent eyeshadows and highlighters for a seamless, ethereal glow.

Maybe its the Louvre (which is a stones throw away) making me feel all artsy or the infectious Parisian vibe but I might just try this music-to-beauty idea myself. Not sure what I would end up looking like if I listened to Justin Bieber though?
