When it comes to hair and make-up I'm pretty low maintenance BUT the thought of no mascara, well like most women it leaves me cold. So at Iceberg today I was freezing. Make-up artist Lucia Pica went without mascara (or any colour, for that matter). Maybe it's because the models are beautiful, but despite my unwavering support for mascara I was very much taken with this look.

You see, Lucia's one smart make-up artist, she balanced the no mascara with a strong straight brow and a sliver of black liner to put back the intensity lost from the lack of mascara.

To get the look I used Vichy Dermablend to take down any high colour in my complexion, along with Benefit Erase Paste around the nose and eyes.

Using Topshop's Cream Highlighter Quad in Kickstart I highlighted my cheekbones and applied a little of the pink highlighter on my lips.

On the catwalk the complexion was left 'flat' but for real life I added the merest hint of colour to cheeks with MAC Cremeblend Blush in Something Special.

To get the straight brow I literally drew a line from the inner to outer corner under each brow using Bare Minerals new Frame & Define Brow Styler in Unusually Dark and filled in using Benefit Browzings.

At this stage I looked a little 'Planet of the Apes' I'm not going to lie but it's surprising what a fine slither of MAC Rapidblack Penultimate Liner can do for a girl.

Once all the components were in place and I'd mussed my hair up so it was a little like the style Mark Hampton created I was actually quite taken with the look.

Joely's verdict: I love. Will be giving this one a go myself...
