Beachy Glam at Holmes & Yang

Katie Holmes presented her SS14 collection with her partner Jeanne Yang today in New York. The make-up was by Bobbi Brown (for which she's the first ever celeb face) and Alterna did the hair - a brand Katie likes so much she's an investor. The actress was heavily involved in the hair process sending stylist John Barrett image references - they wanted a bohemian, second day hair that would fit with both the evening wear and safari-esque day pieces.

To get the look Barrett curled the hair with a 1-inch barrel tong before loosely French braiding and knotting it behind the right ear. He applied Alterna CC cream and loaded in plenty of translucent dry shampoo (apparently Katie loves its mango scent).

This is a strong contender to be my hairstyle of choice for SS14
