The recent unearthing of a previously undiscovered recording of Marilyn Monroe has propelled the late actress into the the spotlight once again, more than 50 years after her death. Thanks to the infamous cover line on her first cover of Life magazine in 1952, 'Marilyn, what do you wear to bed?', we're all familiar with her preferred companion of choice - No.5.

This new recording however, has shed light on exactly what she said; below is the full transcription, and despite it being full of suggestive seduction, the conversation in fact captures the innocence, femininity and spontaneity of the star, that we've come to know and love. The perfect ambassadress for such a timeless fragrance, we say.

'You know, they ask me questions. Just an example: ‘What do you wear to bed? A pyjama top? The bottoms of the pyjamas? A nightgown?’ So I said, ‘Chanel N°5’, because it’s the truth... And yet, I don’t want to say ‘nude’. But it’s the truth!'
