Sunday night’s VMA awards brought with it a whole host of beauty looks and while some A-listers went for the quirkier options (we’ll give you a clue - 90’s buns), London girl Rita Ora kept her look pretty and modestly elegant.

Nude lips and contoured features made for the perfect balance with her Alex Vauthier feathered gown which boasted a hefty 20ft gown. A more colourful look would have been too OTT, but celebrity make-up artist Lucky Smyler wanted to ‘capture her features without the distraction of colour... the goal was to draw attention to her natural beauty’.

Want to try the look for yourself? Here’s Lucky’s step-by-step guide with the products she used on the night..

Skin:

Prep your face with Jurlique Purely Bright Day Moisturizer, £24.96, and Caudalie Beauty Elixir, £32.

Blend Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer, £38, over your foundation using an Original Beauty Blender sponge, £16.

Set this with Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light, £38.

Finally, use Kevyn Aucoin Celestial Veil Powder in Candle Light, £35, on your T-zone to create a spotlight effect.

Cheeks:

For contouring and shaping the cheeks use Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder in Medium, £35, then later Josie Moran Argan Illuminizer, over the top.

Eyes:

Dab Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer, £15, on your eyelid then layer Makeup Forever Eyeshadow in #126, over the top, using a brush to lightly worth the shadow into the crease of your lid.

Add Ardell Individual Lashes, £5.49, and a healthy coat of Dior Show Black Out Mascara, £23 to finish the look.

Lips:

Prep your lips with Hourglass Lip Treatment Oil, £32, then apply three coats of Tom Ford Lipstick in Blush Nude, £36, straight from the tube.
