First, Happy Canada Day (who knew?). Second, if it weren't for Canada we wouldn't have some true beauty staples that we thank the lord (and Canada) for on an almost daily basis. A visit to our desk from Miette, our Canadian Art Director, (with a delivery of 'Moose Droppings', a chocolate mass of marshmallow, shortbread, peanut deliciousness), got our attention. A little lesson in cosmetic history later and we're rich with knowledge. No Canada, no MAC. It could be said that Canada created Ruby Woo. That is something to celebrate in itself. Not to mention such superbrands as Dermalogica (Daily Microfoliant; iconic classic), Bliss Spa and Soap & Glory (founder Marcia Kilgore is Canadian). Come to mention Marcia, she also launched FitFlops - the shoe that tones your bum for you. Cargo, the brand that perfectly combines cute, cool and practical, and beauty desk favourite Cover FX, are all thanks to The Great White North.
