Last night 1000 guests flocked to the Grosvenor Hotel in London to see who would take home the LOreal Colour Trophy 2013 grand final awards. And with good reason; as one of the most prestigious awards in the hair industry its a huge opportunity for hair dressers to make their mark as exceptional colourists (and to be on our speed dial).
To present the awards Alexa Chung took to the stage, wearing a futuristic metallic shift dress from Bella Freuds AW13 collection, alongside funny-man and confessed hair fanatic George Lamb. And in-keeping with the colourful (ahem) tone of the evening Alexa showcased her new sun-kissed hair, courtesy of INOA colourist, Jose Quijano of Neville Hair & Beauty. Enhancing her usual mocha tones with dusty blonde really lifts her colour just in time for summer.
During a three-hour extravaganza artists and their teams showcased trend-lead colour looks on the catwalk. Ken Pictons Pop Candy theme saw models strutting down the catwalk with oversized block-colour 70s curls and diamante red lips.
Jo Hansford MBE and team went for a floatier feel with feminine waves and models wearing designs by Felder Felder. Then things really heated up when Trevor Sorbie MBE and his art team went all out and showcased theirs inside a giant glass box with frosted panels, smoke, mirrors, lights the works.
