Thanks to a faulty plane and strong winds (in May!) our flight was well and truly delayed en route to Cannes. I'm here with CK One Color for the Calvin Klein and IFP Women in Film party tonight.
Yesterday we arrived at The Martinez Hotel where all the stars stay, there was a collective intake of breath from autograph hunters waiting outside as our car pulled up, followed by a collective disappointed sigh as we stepped out of the car. Luckily for them Naomie Harris wasn't far behind. I also spied Cara Delevingne getting in the lift and Rooney Mara checking in and that was within the first five minutes. Still no Dicaprio, but don't worry I'm on 'Leo Watch'.
Thanks to the delays I had very little time to get ready for dinner. But thankfully I have packed my beauty products well - just the key products from my bathroom at home so I could be in and out fast.
From left to right:
Becca Lost Weekend Palette (eye shadows that take me from day to night and one doubles up for brows) Chanel Le Volume de Chanel Mascara, £24, Roger & Gallet Bois D'Orange Perfumed Body Cream Golden Shimmer, £15, Kiko Skin Trainer, £22.90 , used morning and night under...
Dr Nick Lowe Super Charged Day Cream SPF 15, £17.49, Lanolips Ointment, £11.22, Annick Goutal shower gel (which was here. I always use the shower products but pack my own shampoo and conditioner as the hotel ones are never right for my hair) Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess Eau Fraich Skinscent, £45, Shiseido brush (for foundation, I also travelled with a bronzing brush not pictured) Tom Ford Traceless Foundation Stick, £60, Kiko lipstick in a nude hue that takes me from day to night Liz Earle Cream Blush, £16.50, L'Oreal Glam Bronze Duo Sun Powder, £10.20.
The weather is shocking here - grey and rainy but with Cannes, I don't think you can ever be too dressed up. I was proved right when I arrived down at the hotel bar behind frantic flashes from paps, Julianne Moore was resplendent in a strapless gown, followed by Fan Bing Bing in a pink, jewelled floor length dress.
No, I definitely wasn't overdressed for dinner in my shift dress and oversize blazer.
Check back later for more from Cannes...
