Oh my goodness the jet lag is still going strong. Maybe it's the humidity, maybe it's the lack of time for proper refuelling (I'm coffee deficient), but everytime I get backstage at a new morning show the adrenalin kicks in as I anticipate what will be contributing to the new trends. Carolina Herrera was a particualrly beautiful start to a day that would end in Kontouring from a King and feeling inferior next to Jourdan Dunn
The Food
Oh today was a GOOD food day. My favourtie hotel in the world is in NYC: The Greenwich Hotel in TriBeCa is owned by Robert De Niro and the restaurant, Locanda Verde has the best breakfast. Ricotta on chargrilled sourdough with truffle honey is the breakfast of gods.
The catering at Jeremy Scott wins the award for most beautifully presented, but the mini popcorn tubs at 3.1 Phillip Lim took the biscuit. Yes, there were biscuits there too. (Everyone takes pictures of the catering, even the models)
The Shows
Jeremy Scott
HIGHLIGHT: The whole thing really. At last! A LOOK! B-52s inspired, I thought it was a bit 'Fem-Bot', and I loved the colour blocking. The nails were colourmatched to the plastic shoes and even had a cartoon glare painted onto the pinkie.
HAIR HIGHLIGHT: Hairstylist Eugene Souleimon explained that since the show space was so massive, the hair needed to be the same. I love an honest response to a 'what was your inspiration' question.
3.1 Phillip Lim
HIGHLIGHT: The 'cut-out' turquoise liner that started in the lower inner corner, then jumped straight to the top outer corner with nothing in between. Loved the tulle hair bandanas too.
Carolina Herrera
HIGHLIGHT: Gingerly picking my way through the tiniest bakstage area I've ever seen. I say highlight, it was preferable to be out the other side, but I got some close encounters wiht hte beautiful gold washed lids and Orlando Pita's deliberatly slow hair refining technique, for a super smooth, gentle wave.
New Friends
In between shows I caught up with make up artist Rob Scheppy who gave me a lesson in Kontouring in my hotel room (yes, he is does the faces of the whole K-family), plus I played Word Games with Jourdan Dunn
What I Wore
Today you chose me a ruby red Charlotte Tilbury lipstick to go with my colorblock Cos dress and Asos shoes. I also did a braided 'hun' to disguise fact I have no time to wash it, and I felt quite good about it.
My Beauty
The Charoltte Tilbury No.3 Lipstick layered over a matching lip pencil base so it stays all day, plus black flicked liner.
