Lorraine Candy, avert your eyes. I have been playing a computer game this afternoon.

In my defence, it's all in the name of beauty research. You see hair brand Bumble and bumble have launched a free app called Bumble and shuffle. that you can download to your iPhone or iPad. It's basically a hybrid between the super addictive Bejewelled and the retro super addictive Rubik's Cube.

The game starts with all these cartoon ladies in the grid, get three or more of the same ladies in a row and you'll get one new lady with bigger and better hair, the more matches you make the more impressive the hairstyles get. You have a limited number of rows so you need to be strategic, thinking at least three moves ahead at any one time. Addictive stuff.

Now, in the US if you download this game you can earn points toward actual Bumble and bumble products. Sadly the points can only be redeemed on the US website, but us Brits need shiny new Bumble products too you know, so fingers crossed we'll be able to get in on the action soon. I will keep you posted.

In the meantime though, you can download the game for free at iTunes and play for fun. Just make sure your boss doesn't know, because I guarantee you won't be able to stop playing...
