As we prepare for our Red Nose Day ELLE Pyjamarama we are, of course, considering our hair. This is how the beauty department thinks at all times. It's not a complicated thought process; Pyjamas to work - pyjamas to bed - bedhead. It also happens to be a hot topic on the beauty desk at the moment - regardless of charitable occasions - because we've all found, loved and got proprietorial over a select collection of the very best deskside, instant bedheaders of all time.

We've mentioned this one before, it just can't be beaten. I am a particularly lazy coiffeur. I'm useless at attaining the kind of hair I lust over in the pages of ELLE UK, because if my hair doesn't behave correctly the first time, I bung it in a pony and don't factor it into my look that day. My new regime goes like this:

Prep for a very last minute lunch meeting:

Remove Quicktease from drawer

Spritz over whole head like hairspray, scrunch a little, shake fingers through; instant tousled volume. This is incredible stuff and I am yet to see a hair type it hasn't worked for.

I asked the team too:

My hair is very long and takes a lot of effort to wash and dry all the time. I esecially like to lay in bed as long as possible, so on a lazy day I embrace the messy texture and enhance it so it looks purposeful. This gives perfect separation and beachy texture which cleverly disguises my lack of effort for a definite look.

Amy loves Unite TRICKY Lite

This gives my gently wavy hair a kind of mussed up texture but it doesn't weigh it down like a typical beach spray. It doesn't look like I've got product in either, it just looks like my hair - that is naturally ruffled to perfection with exceptional hold and a lovely smell too. Its also good at defining whispy bits at the front when my hair is up. There is such a thing as up-bedhead too.
