We've stayed up surrounded by coffee, popcorn and all manner of technological implements to bring you all the red carpet Oscars news as it happens. Check out our best of beauty gallery for the hottest looks to grace the 85th Academy Awards. In the mean time, it was duly noted that a lot of celebrity partings have gone south. Yes, the hair 'do du jour was long and low, as hinted on the SS13 catwalks where we saw low side parts a-plenty.
This being Hollywood though, there had to be waves. Reese Witherspoon, Naomi Harris and 1st to arrive on the red carpet, and thus setting the benchmark for the night, Jessica Chastain, all rocked a Jessica Rabbit/Jerry Hall hybrid, and my how we love it.
The best way to DIY is to start smooth:
Wash hair, comb into a low side parting and blow dry straight.
Take large barrelled tonges and work from the mid lengths only. Make sure to tong the hair in large sections, always in the same direction for uniform waves.
When completely cool brush through with a soft bristle brush and spray with strong hold shine hairspray to last the 10 course meal and numerous after parties the Oscar guests are promised. Or a normal night out for you and I...
