While out-and-about this week roaming the backstage areas at London Fashion Week, I have spotted a colourful little micro-trend in the form of the two-tone lip. And unlike some catwalk trends this is not just easy to do, it's pretty wearable to boot.

On the less wearable end of the trend spectrum we saw bright red velvety lips with a dark liner by Andrew Gallimore.

Over at the look was reversed with a light red lipstick (MAC’s Once Bitten) on the edges of the lip and a dark burgundy lip pencil in Nightmoth, blended in the centre. The perfect lip for the show's dark fairytale theme.

The two-tone lip popped up once again at . There MAC’s Once Bitten lipstick made another appearance, this time with a magenta lip pencil on the edges for a prettier, graduated finish.

This is, by far, my favourite micro-trend of the season. The blending of two shade creates a sort of otherworldly look that I adore. And I'm not the only one taken by the look, our Beauty Director Sophie will be roadtesting the look for #trialatrend.

Check back later to see the look and how she interpreted it off the catwalk...
