British brand Butter London is taking over the US. It launched over the pond in 2010 and is so popular the brand is now launching colour cosmetics over in Ulta stores this August. The US will get to try the cosmetics before we do with the UK launch slated to be early 2014.

The range will be called Butter London Bespoke Colour Cosmetics and is set to include a vivid selection of colorful mascaras, eye pencils and cream eye shadows, bright cream blushes, buildable tinted lip balms and nail lacquers. The slogan for the collection will be ‘Rock Your Colour’ and all products will be $20 or less, a price tag that allows for experimentation.

'Women have embraced wearing crazy colours on their nails,' said Leslie Freytag, president and chief executive officer of the company. The next trend is moving that colour onto the face.

'The nail category, as hot as it is, represents only one percent of the prestige makeup business,' adds Freytag.

This isn’t the first time the company has dabbled with make-up last spring Butter London launched Lippy Liquid Lipstick, a hybrid lipstick/lip gloss, which was a success paving the way for a full make-up offering.

'The shades you’ll see in this collection are true to the brand in that they’re vibrant, unexpected and on trend, while our formulas are versatile, buildable, long-lasting and, of course, free of parabens and phthalates,' said Katie Hughes, the brand global color ambassador.
