Backstage at John Rocha at London Fashion Week make-up artist Sam Bryant shared her tips for highlighting.

'Becca Skin Perfector in Pearl, £33, is my favourite highlighter - it adds luminosity rather than shimmer,' Sam told me. 'It's quite wet so best used when you're not wearing too much foundation to highlight eyelids, cheek and brow bones and the bridge of the nose'.

Bryant also loves Fardel Pro Makeup Powder in Blanc Pure - it's a sort of 'lunar silver' and she's mixing it with the Becca highlighter for a stronger effect. Off the catwalk 'I love to mix this powder with Vaseline and apply to eyelids for a gorgeous glossy eye'.

If you wear a full foundation Bryant suggests Screenface Luminizing Stick, it blends well and gives skin a grown-up sheen.
Top tip: 'make sure to highlight in daylight or a good light and make sure to blend for a seamless finish'.

On the body Bryant swears by Effadiane Lait Corporel Body Milk (a Parisian pharmacy find), which she uses on shoots when she wants the model's skin to have a wet-look sheen. For us that means this is a must in the summer, when you have a tan, for perfecting you skin on night's out.
