by Sophie Beresiner,

This particular cheesy gift was bestowed upon us by Emma on the Subs desk for getting our first bit of copy in for the June issue. Yes, today is a 'normal' day, (for 'normal' read 'calorie overload' - which isn't recommended btw). Apparently our Cheese Day Tuesday incentive has stuck and spread. We have recruited several new members from the ELLE team, Editor included, and are looking forward to feeling a little bit more confident in our ELLE Style Awards outfits next week; The home stretch of our anti-diet experiment.

When we're not busy congratulating ourselves for sticking to this anti-diet (ok lets face it, its still a diet, even if its an easy one), the ELLE Beauty Team can be found thinking about food, talking about food, abstaining from food whilst thinking and talking about more food, and on days like today - a non-fast day - eating a lot of food.

Our normal day sort-of-healthy eating rules seem to have gone out the window in favour of making up for lost calories with too much cheese, cupcakes and even a whole hamper of Australian treats in honour of Australia Day. I can honestly say my will power is better and worse at the same time, which is an odd place to be, but does seem to be working for me. I can guage how body comfortable I am by how long my top needs to be whilst wearing leggings. In the last three weeks it has crept up and up until I can actually let my inner thighs see the light of day without walking on tip toes to make them seem more streamlined. Yes, cheese and chocolate included, my thighs are slightly slimmer and thus deserve a reward of a nice hearty meal tonight with the rest of the team.

Till next week, this is what the rest of ELLE Beauty have to say.

Amy Lawrenson, Senior Beauty Writer

'I've learnt to plan better for next week. Using up my 500 allowance without any protein made me feel rubbish, and in dire need of a juice, which made me feel better, but tipped me over the edge calorie wise. I think I was trying too hard basically. Since I started doing this I've welcomed a happy return to a size 10 Topshop skirt I thought had left me for good. I'm also able to better control my portion sizes on other days, plus I don't feel guilty about eating cheese anymore, which if you'd guessed from the above post, is worth the effort alone.'

Joely Walker, Beauty Assistant

‘A few weeks in and it’s official – it’s the longest I have ever stuck to a diet. I usually fail at the first hurdle, which is normally around 4pm on the first day. This is my nemesis hour when my enthusiasm starts to lack and I question whether love handles are such a bad thing after all.The beauty of the AntiDiet is the promise of a day of guilt-free delights the next day. By the time breakfast rolls around I feel proud that I lasted and oh so ready to obliterate my eggs Benedict. I've also recruited my mum who likes to use her daily 500 calories on a Pizza Express Leggera.
